Recruitment
How to join this chapter
There is no obligation in reaching out. Plenty of people talk to us, come to a few things, and decide a fraternity is not for them, which is a perfectly good outcome. The university also runs a formal recruitment period through the Interfraternity Council, and you can go through that if you prefer, but you do not have to wait for it to talk to us. Parents are welcome to write with questions of their own.
The recruitment process
- Step 01
Get in touch
Email our recruitment chair, or find us at an event on campus or on Instagram. Tell him your name and your year. There is no application to fill out at this stage, and nothing is expected of you afterwards.
- Step 02
Come to the house
Spend some time with the chapter. Eat a meal, watch a game, meet the people you would actually be living and studying alongside. Ask about grades, cost, and how much time this takes. We would much rather you asked early.
- Step 03
Accept a bid
If it looks like a fit on both sides, we extend a bid. Accepting it begins a new member period, where you learn the history of the fraternity and get to know the chapter before initiation. Ask the recruitment chair exactly what that involves and what it costs.
The rules the new member period is held to, and how to report anything that breaks them without going through us, are on our safety and conduct page.
Talk to someone
Questions are welcome
Write to the recruitment chair below. He is a student, so give him a day or two. If you are a parent and you would rather ask about safety, academics, or what this costs, say so in your email and we will put you in front of the right officer.
